I am the principal designer and owner of Interior Design by Talena. I bring my passion for design and unique perspective to every space I touch. I focus on creating a personal design using unexpected materials and an eclectic style that is timeless. I went to college on a full soccer and an academic scholarship to McNeese State University in Lake Charles Louisiana where I double majored receiving a degree in marketing and management. After college I spent the next 7 years in the corporate world but ultimately knew I felt uninspired. It was then that I joined my husband in his design-build firm. That is where I developed a keen eye for design and found my passion doing what I love. I believe that the design process should be a pleasurable experience and communication is the key. I take the time to meet with my clients, ask a lot of questions and get to know them on a more intimate level. Your home is personal to you. It is where you spend time with your family or entertaining friends. It is where holidays are spent, stories are told, and laughter is shared. Your home is where memories are made. For all these reasons, it is my mission to capture your vision for the time spent enjoying your loved ones in your home. I listen to what my clients yearn for in their space and I create an exclusive design to achieve their dream. I have an appreciation for many different styles. Whether you prefer a sleek contemporary design, shabby chic, a rustic earthy feel or maybe a transitional aesthetic, I always design to what my client desires. When I am not at work you can almost always find me spending quality time with my husband, our daughter and our rescue pug and pitty. I am also an avid runner and enjoy breaking a sweat lifting weights every morning before daybreak.
